This is a great art technique that adds a third dimension to painting. It is so easy and most people have all of the necessary items in their houses. The art is open-ended, which means there are many ways of using the materials and allows for lots of creativity!
Age group: Toddler to School-Age
Ingredients:
-1 Cup Shaving cream
-1 Cup White glue
-Food colouring (various colours)
Materials:
-Paint brushes
-Paper
-Bowls
Mix equal parts shaving cream and glue into each bowl. Add desired food colours into bowls.
Let children paint the mixture onto paper. Set aside to dry. Paint will dry puffy :)
Additional ideas:
-Allow children to drop in two colours into one bowl of puffy paint mixture and learn about the colour wheel.
-Shaving cream + Food colours only; use in the bathtub by painting onto tiles.
-Make hills, spikes and dips on the paper.
